Why you ask?

The answer is simple. They’re amazing. Like a glass of water after being parched for hours in the hot Arizona heat, their music is simply refreshing. The best part? The Technicolors have the pleasure of being stamped with a “Made in Scottsdale” label. That’s right, there is local talent that will blow you away!

I had the pleasure of attending their awe inspiring CD release show, which was wonderfully put on by WalkingStick Presents, last Friday at Scottsdale Studios. The Technicolors simply killed it.

Now, that’s enough of me trying associate words with the music that has simply left me speechless since The Technicolors released their album “Who Are You” on Itunes.

Scottsdale, markedas the Most Livable City in United States, was incorporated in year 1951. The region was developed into fertile farm land by Hohokam Indians, who built a canal irrigation system. Amazingly, some of these canals are still in use. The city got its name from Major Winfield Scott, who bought 600 acres of land outside Phoenix and developed a citrus plantation using his canal irrigation.

Winfiled Scott promoted the region as Orangetown, however the name was officially changed to Scottsdale in 1897.

The contribution of the famous architect Frank Lloyd Wright towards the development of the city of Scottsdale is remarkable. His influence can be seen on the architecture of the city and on the various buildings designed by him during the early days of the city’s development.

Scottsdale Airfield, McComick Ranch and Motorola manufacturing facitlity took the city to new levels of growth during the early years of development.

With time, the population of Scottsdale has steadily increased.  Per city records, the population was estimated at 67 thousand in 1970 and has gone up to 245 thousand in year 2010. The increasing number of individuals are choosing to relocate to Scottsdale, because the city has a lot to offer.

As per records from the year 2000, the city is home for nearly 95 thousand families. The city has fairly young population with median age of 41 years.

Today, Arizona Department of Commerce is commited to provide help to small and large businesses to setup their operations in the region. The state is moving forward and offering help at various levels to streamline the operations for new business development in the region.

Its time to come and enjoy the facilities Scottsdale has to offer. The city offers various investment options in real estate, which can lead of quick growth of investment with remarkable return. Over the past several years, the city has been ranked as “The Most Western Town”, “America’s Best Place to Live for Golf” and “Outstanding Resort Community” by various prestigious magazines and rating agencies.

While you can choose from 50 Min Agave Signature Organic Facial or 100 Min Meditation Calmquest at Agave – The Arizona Spa at the Westin Kierland Resort, others like Desert Bloom Skin Care Center offer 50 Min Microcurrent Face Lift Treatment or 80 Min Custom Organic Facial with Hot Lava Shells.

It won’t be a bad idea to go for deep relaxation and other body treatments at Dolce Salon & Spa – Scottsdale Borgata, Hotel Valley Ho – VH Spa, Jurlique Spa at FireSky Resort or Mozaik Skin & Body.

The spa clinics have a lot to offer at a great price during the Spa week but the one that took our attention was 60 Min Ice Cream Pedicure from Willow Stream Spa at the Fairmont Scottsdale.

However, if Spa treatments are not your cup of tea, and you prefer to burn some fats by running, you might be interested in joining P.F. Chang’s Rock ‘n’ Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon and run for GET FIT challenge. The date for early registration with discounted prices ends 15, September. The event offers lot of fun as live bands will be playing and local cheer squads will be motivating the participants at every mile. After the marathon, you also get free ticket for the Headliner Concert. So, don’t wait anymore. Make up your mind, as the city of Scottsdale has a lot to offer.
