Phoenix Open To Allow Cell Phones

That is right everyone. It is that time of the year again where everyone gets excited about golf and the Phoenix Open. The TPC course in Scottsdale has had it’s flurry of visitors and golfers alike. One thing that just happens to be different this year is a recent rule change in regard to cell phones.

Yes, you read the title right. This year they are allowing cell phones at the Phoenix Open (this has never happened before). Obviously, the rule change comes with a few stipulations.

Your phone must be silent at all times (even if there is loud music or noise).
You cannot take pictures near the ropes or golfers.
Absolutely no video can be taken.
There will be seven “call zones” set up where you can make those emergency business calls.

Just an FYI, there are a couple THOUSAND volunteers patrolling the Scottsdale event. One warning will be given for breaking the rules. After that, you could potentially be kicked out!

Unique Christmas Photos Coming To Scottsdale

Scottsdale Gun Club is turning some heads and raising some eye-brows this Christmas season. While most families line up at the mall for their Christmas photos, the Scottsdale Gun Club is offering photos with not only Santa but real guns as well. The image below is the one of many. Some look at it this new practice and raise their eye-brows while others might be a little offended.

One thing is for sure in my mind. With all this attention the Scottsdale Gun Club is receiving, I can guarantee this will be around for years to come.

So if you’re looking to spice things up this year with your Christmas cards, this might be $10 well spent.

Optima Camelview (One Of My Favorite Places)

Yes, as a Realtor, we tend to give off this “we love all of Arizona” kind of attitude. Because my team works with clients who are buying and selling in every corner of the Valley, it just kind of makes sense.

Well friends, I am now going to tell you, I love Scottsdale. I probably love it more than I love any other part of Arizona. I was born, raised, and have lived here in Scottsdale all of my life. I guess that is just natural. Well, being that Scottsdale is my favorite place in Arizona, you can imagine I have been through almost all of it.

Today I wanted to spotlight a condo complex that truly is amazing. I am talking about Optima Camelview. If you have ever driven up or down Scottsdale Road near Old Town Scottsdale, you have probably seen the very luxurious and unique building on the West side of the road. You got it. That’s Optima.

I have had the pleasure of listing and selling a few of these units and the amenities/atmosphere from within the building and complex truly Trump anything you can grasp just from viewing on the outside. One of the nicest things about Scottsdale and even Phoenix is the close proximity to everything that is going on in the city/state. South Scottsdale, my current stomping grounds, is extremely close to the ASU and Tempe areas.

This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending Tempe’s Oktoberfest. For those of you who are un-aware of what Oktoberfest is, it is basically an event where you drink beer and eat bratwursts. Looking back, I really should have spent more time there than the few hours I had.

This was a great little event and the entry was free. From what I understood, the day time is very family oriented and the night time more of the adult fun comes out. Don’t worry guys, there was beer even during the day. On top of the beer, there was great food, music, rides, and more.

The whole thing was really all encompassing. I recommend attending next year for those who can make it.

Scottsdale + Art = Awesome

So, it’s a Thursday night and your looking for something to do. You love Art but just aren’t looking to shell out the money for a new piece. Preferably, you would love to just window shop. Now, your significant other hates Art. Fortunately though, they like to people watch. Well, Scottsdale has something for everyone.

Downtown Scottsdale’s Art Walk has been going on for years. From 7-9 every Thursday night, you can spend time walking, people watching, and just window shopping. The best part is, Downtown Scottsdale is one of the few places you can still walk around and enjoy yourself. When your done with the Art, there a more than enough restaurants, coffee shops, and other boutiques to occupy your time.
